Has it REALLY been 30 years since we were
all at HHS??
Well, here is the synopsis for my last three decades . .
.
After HHS I attended Biola University and then transferred
to Cal State Fullerton where I graduated in 1979 with a
B.A in Communications/Public Relations.
After college I went to work for Continental Airlines as
a Flight Attendant. I was based in Houston and after living
there for two years I moved back to So. Calif. I then commuted
to Houston and then Denver until I finally got based in
L.A. After 8 years of flying I took an “early retirement”
that offered life-time travel benefits—too great of
a deal to pass up!!! Plus, the “glamour” of
this job had been gone for a long time and I was VERY READY
to give up living out of a suitcase!!!
In 1983 I met my husband (Phil Woodward) and we got married
in 1987. He is a CPA and teaches accounting at two local
universities.
We have two sons, Thomas (15) and Andrew (13). I am truly
blessed to have 3 GREAT BOYS!! An interesting note---Thomas’
first grade teacher was Mrs. Lackey---remember, our Home
Economics teacher!!
After our first son was born I started teaching at Orange
Coast College in the Airline/Travel Careers program. I was
there for 6 years and then went to San Bernardino Valley
College. After 9/11 the program was eliminated so now I
teach there in a Work Experience program.
I really enjoy my part-time jobs (I also work as a rep
for a fragrance company). It gives me flexibility to be
with my sons and a part of their school/ sports activities.
I also love leading a group of women in a Bible Study at
our church.
Well, I guess that is my last 30 years in a nutshell! I
did not think I would make it to the reunion—I was
planning on leaving for Florida that day for a family reunion—but
have been able to postpone it one more day!! Yeah!! A BIG
THANKS to all who have done so much to make this reunion
possible---I look forward to seeing all of you!
